1. Summary

Hero Coach is a free desktop application that shows League of Legends statistics and tips. It requires no account, never asks for your Riot password and does not send your player identity to our servers.

2. Data processed on your computer

League of Legends client data (through the local LCU and the Live Client Data API exposed by the client on your machine): picked champions, roles, game time, items and live game stats. They are processed locally to render the overlay and are not transmitted to Hero Coach.
Preferences (region, rank, patch, widget positions, custom tips) are stored on your computer in the application data folder.

3. Data sent to our server

Statistics queries: to show win rates, counters and builds, the app asks api.getherocoach.com for aggregated data by champion/role/region/rank/patch. These requests do not include your summoner name, Riot ID, PUUID or any personal identifier.
Standard technical data of any HTTP request (IP address, timestamp, user agent), temporarily logged by the hosting provider for security and operations. We don't use it to identify you or combine it with other sources.
Usage measurement: to know how many copies of the app are still active, each request includes a random installation identifier (created on your machine the first time you open the app; it is not derived from anything about you or your Riot account), the app version and the operating system. We keep a daily aggregated count from that. The IP address is not stored: only a cryptographic digest with a key that changes every day, which makes two days impossible to link. Deleting the app's data folder creates a new identifier.
Public assets (champion and item images) are downloaded from Data Dragon / CommunityDragon.

4. Where the statistics come from

Statistics are computed from public ranked matches obtained via the Riot Games API in accordance with its policies. Our server stores aggregates by champion/role/region/patch/rank. If you are a player and want matches tied to your account excluded from the aggregates, contact us.

5. Cookies and website

This website is static and uses no tracking cookies. To know how many people visit it we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and does not identify visitors: it only records aggregated data (page views, country, browser, referring site). We also count visits ourselves, without cookies: when you open the page and when you leave it we record the page, its language, the referring site and campaign parameters (utm), the country, the operating system, the browser and the device type, how long it was visible, how far you scrolled and whether you clicked download. To count distinct visitors we use a code computed from the IP and browser together with the date: it cannot be reversed, it changes every day and it does not allow recognizing you from one day to the next; the IP is not stored. When you click a download button we count the click, recording only the system (Windows/Mac), which button it was and the country, without your IP or any identifier; GitHub also keeps a public download counter for each installer. The website only stores your preferred language in your browser.

6. Retention and security

Server technical logs are kept for a short period (typically under 30 days). All communication with the server is encrypted (HTTPS).

7. Children

Hero Coach is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.

8. Your rights

You may request access, rectification or deletion of any data we might hold about you by writing to [email protected]. You can uninstall the app and delete its data folder at any time.
